Part of my job description is to train other real estate agents. I often get asked questions like, "How do you deal with difficult clients?" or "What do you say to For-Sale-By-Owners?", -as if there are magic words that convince them to list their house with you... The real estate world, and sales in general, is a grueling business but there is one mindset that rises above all else. This mindset or mantra leads you to success in all things. It guides your ethics, and shows you the correct path.

The answer that I continually push on both new and veteran agents comes from an exclusive Keller Williams "Club" called BOLD, but it is by no means KW exclusive idea. The law is this: "Come from contribution." That's it! Simple, right? Sure it's SIMPLE, but it's' not always EASY.

Coming from contribution (CFC) means doing the right thing when no one is watching, even when it doesn't benefit you. CFC is helping your fellow agents with real estate questions or teaching them how to better themselves even though they are your "competition". CFC is teaching a For Sale By Owner how to get the most amount of money for their house in the least amount of time with the least amount of hassle even if you KNOW they may not list their house with you.

You can't stay in business and get referrals if you don't treat people right.. Burn no bridges and Come From Contribution in all that you do today!
