One of the things I was most excited for when I moved to Florida were Farmers Markets and Fruit and Vegetable stands! Being from the Midwest, nothing made me more excited to get good, fresh fruits and vegetables. I have made my rounds and here are a few of my favorites.....
The St. Pete Saturday Morning Market. This weekly fresh market features up to 130 vendors offering everything from fresh produce to homemade soaps to ready to eat food from 15 different nationalities. It is open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. every Saturday at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Pete, and it is free. A staple of the St. Pete community, it is a must do!!!!
Indian Rocks Fresh Market- Daily deliveries of fresh fruit and Vegetables! They always have an abundance of my favorites available. From Carrots, Lettuce, Eggplants to Apples, Avocados and Watermelon, you want it, odds are that they have it! The staff is so friendly, that I feel like I am walking into "Cheers"!!! They are open daily and they are located on Indian Rocks Road.... you have to check them out!
Wagon Wheel Fruit Market- Open on Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday's 7AM-2PM, this Farmers Market is has everything from apples and oranges to exotic fruit that I have to google!!!! Such and array of fruits and vegetables from local farms... it is worth $1 entrance fee!
